On 19 December 1997, 104 lives were tragically lost when SilkAir flight MI 185 crashed into the waters of the Musi River in Palembang, Indonesia. Most of those who perished had probably never contemplated such an untimely end to their lives. Their lives were full of promise and there were dreams that had yet to be fulfilled.
